Course Objectives At the end of this course, it is aimed that students will be able to make applications related to the protection of mental health, to recognize the behavioral changes of mental health impaired individuals, to identify the statements and to apply the nursing process in mental health impaired individuals.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • The student will fulfill his or her role and responsibilities as a nurse to protect, develop and improve mental health.
  • The student will carry out the nursing process using the knowledge and skills specific psychiatric nursing during individual, family and community care.
  • The student will assess the individual, family and community by identifying them holistically.
  • The student will take responsibility related to nurse's role in the mental illness treatment, adaptation to the treatment, implementation of the treatment and monitoring the effects of the treatment on the patient.5
  • The student will have positive attitudes towards individuals with mental illness and psychiatric nursing.
Course Description This course covers methods of protection from mental illnesses, symptoms of mental illnesses, care methods, legal processes and nursing care.
